Teaching and learning

The teaching team at Darling Point Special School prides itself in demonstrating evidence-based practices that are known to achieve the best possible outcomes for each student. Our educators undertake reflective review of their own and each other’s practice, affirming the extent to which they demonstrate quality practice indicators in their work. Specifically, our school promotes high quality implementation of positive behaviour support technologies using the non-linear multi-element programming format developed by the institute of applied behaviour analysis. More recently, in partnership with our scholar-in-residence, Dr Gary LaVigna, the school has developed our own generic multi-element plan which supports teachers to maximise students’ positive behaviours and life skills.
